Dr. Mark Partain received his Doctorate of Audiology from Rush University after completing his clinical education at Weill-Cornell Medicine in New York. He was drawn to audiology due to being a lifelong musician as well as seeing first-hand the familial and social effects of hearing loss. He joined North Shore Audio-Vestibular Lab in early 2020 after beginning his career practicing in Los Angeles.
Dr. Partain has presented at national conferences on the topics of humanitarian audiology, school-age hearing screening and best practices in audiology testing. His current research is evaluating treatments and management strategies for tinnitus, often described as ringing or buzzing in the ears or head. Dr. Partain holds board certification in tinnitus management from the American Board of Audiology.
Dr. Partain believes a compassionate and thorough understanding of the experience of his patients results in effective treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Whether performing a baseline hearing evaluation, selecting optimal hearing aids for his patient or navigating the journey of tinnitus management, he enjoys tailoring care to maximize each patient’s individual needs and experiences.
